Bench Press

The bench press is the main and most popular upper body exercise, it is one of three lifts that is used in the sport of powerlifting the other two are squat and deadlift. The bench press is the only lift in the sport of paralympic powerlifting. The muscles worked while performing the bench press are pectoralis major, anterior deltoids, coracobrachialis as well as the triceps.

Bench Press Chest Exercise Powerlifting

How To Bench Press:

Set your feet - keep your feet back towards your butt to create tension.

- Position yourself with your eyes directly under the bar and squeeze your shoulder blades together.

- Grip the bar tightly wider than shoulder width.

- Take a deep breathe and unrack the barbell.

- Slowly lower the bar to touch your chest.

- Forearms should be at 90 degrees, touch in between your top ab and nipple line.

- Push the bar from chest straight upward toward the starting position.

- Make sure you drive your legs as well.
